  1. So I guess I should take jar jar binks out of my twitter default. ha ha

  2. By “you don’t auto-follow” you mean you don’t use a program to auto follow people. But, do you use a program to auto-follow those who follow you back? like socialtoo?

  3. Awesome video! Getting your message out and conversion is key indeed… add in a little “building relationships” sauce to create magic for any biz.

  4. Maria,
another cool video and some elemental tips how to stand out in this huge and fast growing community. I am very impressed by your work and are looking forward to get more details about your launch product.
When are you going to reveal the price for your SMTB?

Keep on doing what you are doing the way only you do it. Great!

  5. Thanks for the resources.

I tend to get running on Twitter then hit a dry spell. Creating the interactivity like you’re suggesting should eliminate those. Not to mention following popurls.com for subject matter as well.

  6. As consistent with all other comments, this is another great video. Indicating both what to do and what not to do, a key point that I believe to underly Maria’s message is to be ‘genuine.’ Generating followers ‘manually’ [i.e., without using software to automate] as shown in the video leads to creating organic traffic as a natural and virtually inevitable result.

While Maria said it very well, I wish to expand upon the value of choosing to use professional photos. If you would hesitate because of the expense, consider that costs can be spread over the next few years for all promotional uses of such images. Such photos also, as stated, set you apart from the crowd. If you view yourself from the perspective of your followers I am confident that you will likewise recognize there to be significant benefit to ‘promoting’ yourself in the best light.

Developing a following entails a variety of communications. Consider Maria as an example. Each exposure to her is a communication in which one or more ‘messages’ are conveyed to us, intentional or otherwise. Whether an image of her, a video of her speaking to her audience, or a video presentation accompanied by her audible explanation, the abundance of evidence suggests that she has paid attention to important details - that she knows her target audience, that she knows her objective(s) for the communication and that she has done what was required to produce desired result(s). These all serve to reveal her state of preparation as well as her relative worthiness of being ‘followed’ by those who are interested in what she has to share.

What we do and how we do it, including how we present ourselves, influence others’ perceptions of us. It is apparent to me that Maria is quite aware of the factors that have contributed to her success, including matters pertaining to presenting a positive image - and that she is effective at sharing her knowledge. Modeling her success may just be the shortest distance between where you are and where you wish to be.

  7. I can see the visual but I could not listen any sound. Please help me.

  8. Great video. Very insightful.

At the end of the day it comes down to branding. In this ‘dog eats dog’ world, one needs to stand out and personal branding is where it starts.

Thanks for the popurls.com - will be checking it out soon

    Cheers,

  9. Hi Maria,

Another healthy dose of common sense without the hype. Interestingly one of my colleagues recently described me as edgily authentic - I took it as the compliment it was intended to be - now I know I’m in great company!

  10. Hi Maria,
Awesome information and I will be following your instruction!

Thank you and keep up the good work.

  11. It appears that the link to watch the video is broken.

  12. the video link seems to be broken.

  13. Great tips Maria! Thanks for putting together such an awesome video.

  14. Hey Maria - I learned about you this evening from Yaro and Gideon’s website - the audio interview…

I understand that you rate the TOP 3 SM tools as 1. YouTube, 2.Twitter, and 3. Facebook.

I have a question - what about WIKIPEDIA???

Every time I search ANYTHING on Google - it ALWAYS comes up with a WIKIPEDIA entry because that site is so huge - surely this should be squeezed into your top spots as perhaps number 4???

Keen to hear your views on this.

    Great products - good luck!

    A.

  15. Thanks for sharing more of your tips with us.
For my dance school picture i use my logo as my photo and my background. Would you recommend using a photo of me for the photo as opposed to my logo? Thanks again x

  16. Thanks for your inspirational videos, Maria. I loved your interview with Yaro and Gideon.

  17. Hi Maria,
I just listened to your awsome interview with Gideon. I have learned so much in the last 7 months being a former student of Alex Jeffreys mentor program. I have been on webinars where you have spoken about your experiences. I just have to say you are and inspiration to us all. I like the way you keep it real and you always over deliver. keep up the great work I will see you at the top.

  18. Great Video, Maria!
I am a student of Alex Jeffreys’ Course and now in the process of creating my first successful online business. The information you share is invaluable! It is absolute must for everybody who wants to be a success online. I follow every your word and hope to benefit from your knowledge in very short time!
    Great Job!
I am really proud to learn you are Canadian!
I have to say, you are really beautiful Lady! It has nothing to do with Internet Marketing! LOL Just to let you know!

  19. Hey Maria,

I have a question that has nothing to do with this post but I’m hoping you will help me out here.

I’ve been wanting to ask this question to someone that I believe will give me the right answer and I believe that’s you.

I understand that if you go to Youtube and you want to use a video there to put on your website all you have to do is take the embed code and put it on your site.

This is what I don’t get. Is it perfectly legal to do so. I realize that when people post their videos and they choose to have the embed code there free for easy pickings does that truly give anyone permission to use the video for their use and to profit from them.

I may be wrong but I still believe there may be some kind of copyright infringement going on here. I wish there was someone or somewhere that I could get a definitive answer. Until then I just don’t feel comfortable posting other peoples videos on my blog, and especially to make a profit off them.

If you can answer this fine. If you can’t maybe you know someone that can.

    Thanks,
    Jeff Sargent

  20. This is a great video. It was very inspiring.

Thank you so much for the information.
I admire you for knowing what you want and getting stuff done.
You are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work!

  22. Maria,

Great video and information. I am just starting out and need all the help I can get. This information and the wonderful advise fin the earlier interview. I have been hesitant to use twitter a lot because I was concerned with abuse of information and some of the followers i have gotten are just blatantly promoting their sales site. I did not want to go there. You insight to the right way to use twitter is very enlightening.

On another note; it is great to see someone put into practice the principles from the Secret and have such success.

May the Universe continue to smile on you.

    Otha

  31. Hello Denise again, I enjoyed your video. I do a lot of reading on the internet about different companies, that I feel are worth going for and permoting. Like John Denton, Paul Darby, and everyone else, that I have the pleasure of being introduce to by email and a like. The have helped me in so many ways, that I can not express the help and guidness they have given me. They don’t believe that I have not been listening well I have. It just that it is hard for me to come up with funds, even the small ones. I just want to say Thank You too all that stuck by me and couching me to hang in their.

  36. Just started on a lot of Howie, and now you vidoes. See if we could all post a photo that looked as good as you look, that also brings traffic. Lady wow, you are captivating and the motivation is great………no I am not trying to build your ego, just commenting on the traffic catching and what we all levitate to. Your eyes see things that you react too. I am new but will try and grasp a lil bit at a time. The twitter idea is good, to start.

  37. Hi Maria - saw you at Launch Tree LIVE and loved your presentation! 2 questions for you from this video: (1) my twitter id is “tom_holownia” with an underscore between the “m” and “h”. Noticed you didn’t do that. Do you recommend I change mine and if so, at what risk? (2) looks like you’re on a mac from what I can see in the video. what program are you using to make your screen capture vids? I’ve used camtasia on a PC but they don’t have a mac version. thanks in advance and thanks for being on the leading edge and sharing so much!! Best

  38. Hi Maria et al., I found your site through Gideon and Yaro. I have a question re. twitter - I keep finding that everyone on twitter is also trying to sell something - no one appears to follow for the sake of following - they are all trying to sell, sell, sell something - how do you break past that and actually get people to get interested in your products? I was evaluating http://www.socialmarketingacademy.co.uk also. Do you have more info on your courses in downloadable e-brochure format?
